International Purebred Mini Jersey Week brings together breeders, homesteaders, and enthusiasts from across North America to celebrate the value and versatility of Purebred Mini Jersey cattle. The event is hosted by PMJS – if you’re not already a member, we encourage you to learn about the benefits of membership!

The week will highlight the growing interest in efficient, family-scale dairy solutions and the importance of responsible breeding, accurate pedigrees, and community collaboration within the Mini Jersey industry.

Why are Mini Jerseys the gold standard for the modern homestead? These compact, efficient animals produce high-butterfat milk, making them ideal for small-scale dairy production. Their smaller frame requires less pasture footprint while providing just enough milk for the family table. By focusing on purebred cattle, PMJS ensures that the Jersey traits we love, such as high cream content, moderate production, easy calving, a docile nature, great mothering instincts, and lower feed consumption are preserved for generations to come.

A key feature of the week will be the announcement of the winners of the inaugural PMJS Virtual Cattle Show. The virtual format allows for broad participation while maintaining a focus on conformation, genetic merit, and breed standards.

Our Virtual Cattle Show is more than a contest; it is an educational tool designed to help the community identify the conformation traits that define a Mini Jersey. From udder attachment and structure to overall breed character, we prioritize visual and genetic data to protect the integrity of the breed.

Throughout International Purebred Mini Jersey Week, participants are encouraged to share their cattle, breeding programs, and homesteading experiences, helping to educate and inspire both new and seasoned cattle owners. In addition, the public will have the opportunity to participate in selecting a Community Choice Award winner. Voting will take place during the week, with the final winner announced on July 18, 2026, closing out the celebration.
